Introducing #SwiftHomeHacks

a series of affordable hints and tips from Swiftcover to help make your house more of a home

We know how hard it is to get on the property ladder nowadays, and once you do manage to save up enough for a deposit and get your first place, it’s difficult to find the spare cash to do it up to your taste.

That’s why we’ve teamed up with six fantastic interior design bloggers to provide a series of #SwiftHomeHacks – affordable hints and tips to help make your house more of a home.

From getting cosy in time for winter to creating homemade bath salts to making DIY wreaths the #SwiftHomeHacks six will be offering ideas and showing us how to make your house a home this festive season. We’ve got something to inspire those of you who are keens beans and motivate those not-so-keen crafters.

Our research* reveals that a fifth of all Brits are either saving towards buying or renting a new place, so there aren’t that many spare pennies to splurge on redecorating and refurbs. Plus many of us are reluctant DIYers, with 1 in five saying they’ll only DIY when they have to and 14% saying they don’t do it at all! But we want to change all that.

For those lucky ones who do manage to take their first step onto the property ladder, the challenge is to make your house feels like a home. But don’t fear, #SwiftHomeHacks is here to help!

Introducing our bloggers

Back again for another round of #SwiftHomeHacks, Sarah from sarahakwisombe.com is an interior stylist who pegs herself as the girl who’s “gate crashing the design world and making a pretty awesome mess in the process!”

Sarah is going to be showing us how to be the hostess with the mostest, create some alternative festive decs and how to shop smart.

Anna from dontcrampmystyle.co.uk is an interior design blogger with a flair for making expensive designs on a budget.

She lives with her two cats in a rented home, and even with most of the furniture belongs to her landlord but she still makes the flat look stylish and oh-so- chic. Anna has returned to show us how to make your home ready for hibernation, count down for Christmas and stylishly organise yourself during the festive frenzy.

Award winning interior design blogger and supreme DIY-er, Kimberly from swoonworthy.co.uk is back again! She describes her style as ‘Eclectic Boho Glam’ and loves the challenge of creating an aspirational and glamorous look with a modest budget.

This time around, Kimberly is going to demonstrate how to transition your home style for winter, create a stylish table centrepiece and DIY coasters.

Melanie of the award winning Melanie Lissack Interiors blog is new to the #SwiftHomeHacks squad. She brings modern style – on a modest budget, describing her approach to DIY and decorating as contemporary, on-trend, and quirky.

Melanie is going to show us how to create your own wreath and how to make some banging baubles.

Candy Pop’s Natasha is another #SwiftHomeHacks newbie. Creative and clever, Natasha likes sharing simple and easy ways to calm and inspire everyday life.

Natasha is going to give us some tips on how to declutter your living room and kitchen during the run up to the Christmas chaos.

This is Tamsyn’s debut to #SwiftHomeHacks. A self-confessed car boot fair addict and renovator of a rundown Victorian house, Tamsyn brings her passion to reuse, recycle and repurpose vintage furniture and treasures.

Tamsyn is going to be giving us ideas on how to repurpose old doilies and tablecloths, demonstrate how to DIY stunning gift wrap and give the traditional hyacinth a modern upgrade.
